WEEKEND parking rates in three City of Perth carparks will be halved for the first four hours of parking.

The His Majesty’s, Pier Street and Regal Place car parks will be half-price on Saturdays and Sundays.

Motorists can also use the free City of Perth parking application, which shows the number of vacant bays in selected car parks.

It can be downloaded from the iPhone App Store and Android Market.

Information about special parking rates, permit parking and car park facilities is available at www.cityofperthparking.com.au.

The site also provides commuters with the opportunity to find information about special parking rates, permit parking and car park facilities

Halving the fees could be a coverup. What about all the extra fees that could be collected if councils start charging for parking bays in shopping centres and business area carparks like has been said before in the media ! Half the fee tripple the paid parking spaces. Councils win win.
