CLASSIC Broadway songs and productions will light up Penrhos College on Saturday.

The college’s music students will team up with international vocal group Idea of North in the concert showcase Back To Broadway at the school’s Rixon Theatre stage.

Backed by a professional rhythm section and the college’s talented instrumentalists, vocal features will include songs from Les Miserables, Wicked, Rent, Mamma Mia, Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Hairspray and Miss Saigon.

Penrhos College music director Paul McCarthy described the event as a fantastic night of musical entertainment.

“The jazz voice choir and senior choir will be featured on this night, alongside some of our very talented vocal soloists, instrumentalists, jazz band and special guest artists,” Mr McCarthy said.

He said the school continued to foster strong musical links with the University of Western Australia’s school of music.

Tickets are available at $20 adults, $10 children (school-aged or younger), $10 concession or $50 family. Call 9368 9671.
