WANNEROO all-rounder and former Warriors rookie Jake Fawcett (21) has the whole of Australia watching him as he attempts to get back on the Warriors list.
Astute pay TV viewers may have noticed Fawcett battling it out on the debut of reality sports show Cricket Superstar last Wednesday.
He made it through an intensive selection process to score a spot on the new TV series, which offers a 2012-13 rookie list slot on the winning competitor’s state team.
Fawcett will be pitted against fellow WA cricketers Chris Chellew and David Vernon as well as 12 others from around Australia.
Judged by cricketing great Allan Border, the squad lives in a Brisbane mansion as ‘Captain Grumpy’ and former Test player Graham Manou put them through rigorous tests of skill.
Various greats will mentor them throughout the series, with the best-judged contestant also receiving a four-month scholarship at Cricket Australia’s Centre of Excellence.
