SIX hair stylists from WA have been crowned State finalists in the Wella Professionals Trend Vision Awards 2012.
The awards provide talented stylists the chance to show their skills on a global level by interpreting one of the four Wella trends.
Judge Andrew Tetley was impressed with the calibre of entries.
“The Trend Vision finalists showed some very impressive colour results and techniques. It’s great to see the apprentice category growing with their interpretations of trends in colour and styling,” Tetley said.
All six State finalists are from the Perth CBD.
Eliesha Kadie and Gregory Churchill from House of Ernest in Carillon City and Jason Sorbie from Cision in West Perth have taken out positions in the Young Talent category.
This division is open to hairdressers under the age of 30 and honours excellence in haircut technique and finish, creative interpretation and refinement of the trend by creating a total look.
Sarah Beavis and Jane Cahill from Toni & Guy Perth Central and Nakia Stevens from House of Ernest have been awarded in the Colour category.
Beavis was thrilled to have her creations chosen as one of the State’s best, saying she channelled the idea of a fearless, sensual woman, combining inspiration from Mardi Gras passionate colours.
Stevens said her inspiration came from colours of jewels like sapphire, amethyst and jade.
